22 Aug 2018 Update: Mary Ward's mother Srah Lake's sister's direct maternal line descendant Jim Kanalley has tested for mtDNA and found that the sisters and thus Mary (Ward) Harrison and everyone listed below has mtDNA haplogroup T2b1.
This research note seeks to identify deceased direct-line female descendants of Mary Lake, toward the eventual identification of candidates for providing samples of her mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). The numbering system includes only female descendants, so that it differs from the numbering system that would be used to include all of her descendants.
Note that there are cases of cousins marrying cousins, particularly with the multiple Junkin-Martin marriages, but I am only noting first cousin marriages explcitly below. [I am including in square brackets "The Junkin Families" book numbers of those who are included in the book. I am beginning this with Margaret Martin and have not yet gone back to include the Junkin numbers for the others who I have already completed. Those with more than one Junkin number are descendants of marriages of cousins.]

Matilda herself died in 1960. So there are no mtDNA descendants surviving on her line. She had three sons, 1900-1908, all presumably now deceased.
