    In memory of Richard Adams, who died July 17, 1847, Aged 51 years == photograph by Wesley Johnston 2 Oct 2012 == Bond Street Methodist Church is now Simcoe Street United Methodist Church, but all of the cemetery records were lost in a fire. So all that remains are the grave stones, which have been combined into a cairn in the center of the lot. The central plaque reads "PIONEER MEMORIAL GARDEN - In 1847 this plot of land was conveyed to Wesleyan Methodist Church as the site of a chapel and burying ground. Here rest many of the early pioneers of this district. This memorial was erected in 1949 by Simcoe Stree United Church, Oshawa, in memory of those whose names are inscribed hereon and other not so recorded who also sleep here."
