Ricardo Camillo Perez, born May 28, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., passed away on March 6, 2009, in San Bdno, CA. Richard attended Elem. and high school in Chicago. He traveled to San Bdno. in the late sixties, he received a Bachelor's Degree from Redlands University and a Masters Degree in Spanish Literature from Cal State L.A. He spent his lifetime researching, reading, writing, contemplating life and was active in the migrant farmworkers' movement with Cesar Chavez. Richard was an individual who followed the beat of his own drum. He is survived by his brother, Frank Ayala of Rialto, CA; his sisters, Sylvia Campos of Blue Island, Ill., Rebecca Hernandez of Van Nuys, CA, and sister, Adalberta Perez of San Bernardino, CA; 14 nephews and nieces; 21 great-grand nephews and nieces; 1 great-great-grand nephew; and 1 great-great-grand niece. A Viewing will be held from 1-3 P.M., Sat., Mar. 14, 2009, at San Bdno. Mission Chapel, 1798 N. "D" St. He will be cremated on M onday and his final resting place will be next to his beloved parents' ashes in Mexico. Uncle Richard (a.k.a. Uncle Camillo) was loved and adored. We are all the better for having "walked" with him.
