Two 1794 William Tregea at St. Agnes
The 1851 Census of St. Blazey, Cornwall shows the William Tregay residing at Highway in the parish of St. Blazey and shows his birth was at St. Agnes, Cornwall:

The problem is that there are two William Tregea baptisms at St. Agnes at the right time and no other candidates:

- 13 Jul 1794 to John and Mary - born 27 Jun 1794 - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-11610-162446-44

- 5 Apr 1795 to John and Allice - born  29 Dec 1794 - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-11610-168806-12

So which one was him? It would take a lot more research to figure that out, and this is beyond the scope of the St. Blazey Families Project, unless some compelling reason arises. So I am leaving the research on this question open.

NOT born at St. Mewan
There are a number of trees on Ancestry that show this same William Tregay as born at St. Mewan, with no evidence for that. In light of the clear statement in the 1851 census (which none of those trees have in their cited records) that he was born at St. Agnes, any tree that shows him born anywhere other than St. Agnes is almost certainly wrong.
