June (Stroner) Davia, 90, of Palos Heights, IL passed away peacefully at her home on April 9, 2017. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Harold, her parents Tillie and Louis Stroner and her sister, Patsy Stice. She leaves behind her beloved sister, Lois Benda, and many nieces and nephews. Longtime residents of Palos Heights, June and Harold built their home in the early 1950's. They were partners with her sister Lois and brother-in-law Paul Benda for over 50 years in a successful masonry business (Davia & Benda, Inc.) for which June helped with bookkeeping. During this time they helped to build many schools, commercial buildings and residences in the Southwest suburbs. June was also a tireless and dedicated volunteer at Palos Hospital through their Women's Auxiliary. She started volunteering immediately after it opened in 1972 and only stopped when she could no longer drive. Having a home each in Palos Heights, IL and Naples, FL, June enjoyed socializing with her many friends and acquaintances. Always elegant and immaculately dressed, June was known as a most gracious host of parties and family gatherings. She loved golf, bowling and playing cards. Family and friends can celebrate her life at a memorial service at Good Shepherd Church in Palos Heights, IL on Saturday, June 3rd at 11:00am. Interment will be private and take place at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Cemetery.
