Keith Harold Ongman
Keith Harold Ongman, 79, of Shelbyville, formerly of Fairmount, died at 2:48 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be in Naperville. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to VFW Post 4829 of Shelbyville.
Mr. Ongman was born March 26, 1928, in Chicago, the son of Harry D. and Phoebee Peterson Ongman. He was a U.S. Marines Corps veteran of WW II and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service in the Korean War. He was a manufacturing supervisor for General Motors in Tilton until his retirement. He was active in the Republican Party and the Masonic Lodge in Chicago.
Surviving are his sons, Kenneth A. Ongman and wife Sharon of Collinsville, Keith J. Ongman Sr. and wife Linda of Harvard and H. Patrick Ongman and wife Heidi of Draper, Utah; daughter, Cynthia J. Bromir and husband Bradley of Crystal Lake; stepchildren, George Schaffer, Brenda Hopper, Mark Glistie, Julie Rigdon and Jennifer Victory; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
