Gibson Family Bible - Birth and Death of John Gibson 19 Oct 1842
The Family Bible records the families of brothers John (born 1811) and Christopher Gibson who came to Pickering Township from County Armagh, Ireland, apparently in late 1841 or early 1842. When Christopher died, his widow Elizabeth Gray married Thomas Johnston and had one son, John Johnston, which is the origin of the Johnston entries in the Gibson Family Bible. The 1842 John was the son of Christopher and Elizabeth, since the 1811 John Gibson already had a son John, born in Ireland. -- image thanks to Gary Bagley who had the Bible restored
